Term life insurance
The most affordable way to protect your family during the years they depend on your income. Choose 10, 20, or 30 years of coverage, compared across multiple carriers and available in all 50 states.
How term life works
You choose a coverage amount and a term length. If you pass away during the term, your beneficiaries receive a death benefit that is generally free of income tax.
Premiums stay level for the whole term. When the term ends, coverage stops. Many policies let you renew at a higher rate or convert to permanent coverage without a new medical exam.

Term life questions
Don't see yours? Ask us directly.
What happens when my term ends?
Coverage stops unless you renew or convert. Renewal rates are based on your age at that point and are usually much higher, so we review your options well before the term ends.
Can I convert term to permanent coverage?
Many term policies include a conversion option that lets you switch to whole or universal life without new health questions, usually up to a certain age or policy year. We look for this feature when we compare carriers.
How long a term should I choose?
A common approach is to match the term to your longest obligation, such as the years left on your mortgage or until your youngest child is independent.
Do I need a medical exam?
Not always. Several carriers offer accelerated underwriting with no exam for healthy applicants up to certain coverage amounts.
